Privacy Policy
Task Path · Nian Shou Apps · Effective: 1 June 2026
Short version: Task Path stores your tasks in your own iCloud account. Nian Shou Apps does not collect, see, or sell any of your personal data. Subscription purchases are handled entirely by Apple.
1. Who We Are
Task Path is developed and published by Nian Shou Apps, a sole-proprietor indie developer based in Singapore. Questions about this policy may be directed to the contact address at the end of this document.
2. Data We Collect
Task Path collects no personal data on behalf of Nian Shou Apps. Specifically:
- We operate no analytics services, crash-reporting SDKs, or advertising frameworks.
- We do not collect your name, email address, device identifiers, IP address, or usage statistics.
- We do not track your behaviour across other apps or websites.
3. Data Stored on Your Device and in iCloud
All task data you create — including task titles, notes, due dates, priority levels, and list assignments — is stored exclusively:
- Locally on your iPhone or Mac using SwiftData (Apple's on-device persistence framework), and
- In your personal iCloud account via CloudKit sync, if you are signed in to iCloud and have iCloud Drive enabled.
This data is private to you. Nian Shou Apps has no access to your iCloud data. CloudKit sync is governed by Apple's Privacy Policy.
4. Calendar and Reminders Access (EventKit)
Task Path can optionally interact with your Apple Reminders and Calendar data via EventKit. This requires your explicit permission, which iOS will request before any access occurs. Specifically:
- Reminders import: On first launch (if you grant permission), the app can read your existing Apple Reminders to import them as Task Path items.
- Calendar event creation: On demand, the app can create calendar events in your chosen calendar. This data remains within Apple's Reminders and Calendar infrastructure and is never transmitted to Nian Shou Apps.
You may revoke these permissions at any time in Settings → Privacy & Security → Reminders / Calendars.
5. In-App Purchases (StoreKit)
Task Path offers optional premium features through auto-renewable subscriptions, processed entirely by Apple using the StoreKit framework and the App Store's payment system.
When you subscribe, Apple processes your transaction — including data tied to your Apple ID, such as purchase history and payment method — in accordance with Apple's Privacy Policy. Nian Shou Apps does not receive, store, or have access to your payment details. The App only receives confirmation from StoreKit that an active subscription exists, which is used solely to unlock premium features within the App.
6. External Links
Task Path may include links to external websites (for example, support resources). These open within the App using Safari View Controller, an Apple system framework that displays web content without leaving the App. Visiting an external link may share your IP address and standard request headers with the destination website, which is governed by that website's own privacy policy. Nian Shou Apps has no control over, and is not responsible for, the privacy practices of external websites.
7. Third-Party Services
Task Path uses no third-party SDKs, frameworks, or services beyond Apple's own system frameworks (SwiftData, CloudKit, EventKit, StoreKit, and Safari View Controller). There are no embedded advertising networks, social login services, or analytics providers.
8. Children's Privacy
Task Path is a general-purpose productivity app. It does not knowingly collect information from children under 13. Because we collect no personal data from any user, no special handling for children is required beyond this statement.
9. Data Retention and Deletion
Your task data persists as long as the app is installed or your iCloud account retains it. Deleting the app removes all locally stored data. To remove CloudKit data, delete the app and then clear the associated iCloud data from Settings → [Your Name] → iCloud → Manage Account Storage.
10. Changes to This Policy
If this privacy policy changes materially, the updated version will be published at this URL with a revised effective date. Continued use of the app after such changes constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
